Why use this lab ??

Dollar for service and value this DNA sequencing operation hands down the best .  Further did you know that 23andMe, AncestryDNA and MyHeritage test less than 0.1% of your genome??  Even the Basic kit does 0. 4 % here at only $50 more regular price.

There are several DNA companies that are popular and offer sales from $99 down $59.00 on the holidays.  Ancestry, Myheritage, 23 and Me, FamilyTree DNA and others.  The MyHeritage DNA test, as are all of these,  is an autosomal test, meaning that, in addition to giving you that ancestral ethnicity breakdown, it also looks at both sides of your family tree (about 4-6 generations deep) not but really in depth information about your genes.

For instance at sequencng.com occassionally the same 30x depth is $299.00 when you catch it on sale.  Here is a local  comparison pdf of their ad taken June 14, 2021 from compare dna tests online (the pdf  will either open or download depending on your system is setup) They have an "apps market" where you can upload your raw data and run these self help tests for a fee where you can use your DNA raw data from anywhere, but if you select just a few, you have paid for new full sequencing at this lab for 30x 100% geneome sequencing anyway which includes most of what their app market offers. .  See apps market  Ordering full genome sequencing is saving $300 from the onset and STILL getting most of what their "app market" offers in the same price as full genome sequencing.

other providers

Full genome sequencing is far superior to autosomal DNA tests.  See https://isogg.org/wiki/Understanding_genetic_ancestry_testing

An autosomal DNA test provides information from the great majority of your DNA (the autosomes are the chromosomes other than the X, Y and mtDNA, and contain most of your DNA sequences, and genes). Full genome sequencing is here now and is  as affordable as Autosomal tests depending on how deep you want to drill into the genome.  Autosomal DNA tests usually examine up to around 1 million genetic markers (SNPs) spread across the genome (1 million may sound a lot but there are over 3 billion DNA letters in the human genome, so it's still a small fraction but the most informative sites are chosen).

For instance the MyHeritage DNA  data file includes the raw data produced by the lab they use from your DNA sample. The MyHeritage DNA test covers between 600,000-700,000 SNPs (single-nucleotide polymorphisms) used to calculate your results and match them with the DNA results of other people.

You can read more about SNPs on the International Society of Genetic Genealogy Wiki.
Your DNA data file will be downloaded as a text file. The data appears in a table, in which each row stands for a SNP. It includes the following values:
  • rsID - Reference SNP Cluster ID. This number is the agreeable scale that allows managing the knowledge around SNPs contributed by different research projects around the world without duplications or overlaps. Each SNP is associated with one rsID.
  • Chromosome - Specifies on which chromosome the specific SNP is located.
  • Position - Indicates the position of the SNP on top of the chromosome. Each chromosome is made up of two strands in a helix structure called an allele.
  • Allele 1 - Which nucleotide your DNA sequence presents on this position in that chromosome on a single strand of the helix.
  • Allele 2 - Which nucleotide your DNA sequence presents on this position in that chromosome on the second strand of the helix.
You can read more about nucleotides and the double-helix structure of the DNA on the International Society of Genetic Genealogy Wiki.

So still looking at the table below the Basic package is a better value at $149.00 for Full Genome Sequence to .4 (four tenths)  times the Depth of the full Genome of 3 Billion    So the Basic kit even beats MyHeritage test by a factor of 10
